The Lady Diamond Warriors won the Region 23 Tournament and fin– ished state runners-up.

East Central qualified for it s second-straight appearance in the nation– al tournament by captur– ing runner -up honors in t h e Region 23 Tourna– ment held earlier this month. East Central managed just two hits in the elimi– nation game with Owens - singles each by Lauren Nicholas of Neshoba Cen– tral and Kasie Buckley, a product of Newton County High School. Taylor Bailey (32-10), who pitched her fifth game in two days , took the loss. Bailey allowed two runs on nine hits. She fanned five batters and walked one. Bailey is a
