EC, Gulf Coast split doubleheader After posting an 8-0 shutout
offense in the opener. Buckley belted a home run, double and single and Alexander slapped two doubles and a single. Buck– ley was also credited with two RBls and scored three runs. Alexander knocked in a run and scored once. Other bitters were Chelsea Jones of Enterprise, double and single; Brittany Pounders of Southeast Lauderdale and Taylor Bailey, a product of Bowie High School in Austin, Texas, doubles each; and Abbie Joiner and Lau– ren Nicholas, both of Neshoba Central, singles each. Pounders also lmocked in two runs and Jones, Joiner and Nicholas each had an RBI. Also scoring runs were Nicholas, Bailey, Jones and Haylee Roberts of Enterprise. Taylor got the win in the five-
inning matchup, which was called due to the eight-run rule. She fanned six batters and allowed just two hits. In the second game, EC jumped out to an early 3-0 lead following Pounders' two-run homer but the Lady Bulldogs ral– lied to tie the division battle in the fifth inning and later claimed victory with two runs in the eighth inning. In addition to Pounders, other EC sluggers were Alexander, double and single; Joiner and Bailey, two singles each; and Nicholas and Buckley, singles each. Alexander also knocked in a run and scored a run. Joiner also scored. Bailey went the distance and took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits. She also fanned two batters and walked one.

The Lady Diamond Warriors are currently in second place in the MACJC South Division with an 11 ~6 mark followed by Gulf Coast at 14-3. EC is 24-10 over– all and the Lady Bulldogs are 26- 10. Jones County is third (10~. 26-10) followed by Pearl River (9-7, 17-15), Copiab-Lincoln (8- 10, 20-16), Southwest (6-10, 14- 16) and Hinds (1-17, 8-26).
