The Lady Diamond Warriors won the opener by a 3-1 margin and held on for a 2·0 decision in the second contest. With the sweep, EC improved to 18-8 overall in 5-4 in the MACJC South DivisJOn, while the Lady Bears dropped to 10-12 and 3-7. Lauren Nicholas slapped two singles and Kasie Buckley and Taylor Bailey each doubled to lead the EC offense in the opener. Nicholas, a product of Neshoba Central High School, also scored a run. Buckley is a Newton County High School product and Bailey hails from Bowie High School in Austin, Texas. Other hitters were Abbie Joiner of Neshoba Central and Haylee Roberts of Enterprise, who had sin– gles each. Joiner also scored a run. The Lady Diamond Warriors host division foe Hinds Communi– ty College Wednesday. March 30. Game times are 3and 5 p.m. on the Decatur campus. East Central and Co-Lin will battle Saturday, April 2, in double– header action starting at 1 p.m. on the Decatur campus. The College's softball program is led by head coach Scott Hill and assistant Kristin Chaney.

Joiner also belted three singles and scored a run in the MACJC South Division matchup. The Nashoba Central High School product also found success at the plate in the second contest by connecting on three singles in a 6-5 setback to the visiting Lady Wildcats. She also scored a run in the loss.
