Brittany Pounders blasted two home runs in her three hits in EC's 9-2 win in the opener. Pounders had four RBI. EC took control ea1·Iy, putting up six l'UllS in the bottom of the first inning. Kelsi Watson had a pail· of sin– gles for EC, while Summer A1exander had a double Haylee Roberts and Lauren Nicholas both had a single. Bailey (5-1) got the win as she allowed only three hits in a com– plete-game performance. She struck out two and walked two. Lakin Lockhart home1·ed for Co-Lin. Bethany Pinkston (9-2) took the loss. In the second game, Co-Lin scored with one out in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Haley Sones to salvage a split. EC had 11 hits with Joiner and Alexander both 'going 3-for-5. Laurel Burnett had a pair of sin– gles. Nicholas and Watson both had a double, while Bailey had a single. Buckley (2-3) took the loss, a!Jowing six hits and five walks in 8 1/3 innings. The East Central Community College Lady Warriors split a pair of MACJC South Division double– headers with Copiah-Lincoln and Jones in last week's fastpitch action. This week, EC was scheduled to host Mississippi Delta on Monday, then go to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday before playing in the Judson College ToUI·nament in Selma, Ala.• Friday-Saturday. Buckley (2-4) took the loss, allowing five nms on eight hits and two walks in five innings. She struck out tb1·ee. Bailey tossed the final two frames, givi ng up no hits and no walks to go with a strikeout. Smith and K.T. Perkins both had two hits for Jones with one of Perkins' hits being a double. Ginger Loner gan (7-1) went the dis– tance to get the win. She gave up seven hits and three walks to go with seven strikeouts. EC's record went to 8-5 over all and 2-2 in division play, while Jones' went to 15-5 and 1-3.
