ECCC slates 5K run-walk for Oct. 8 The 'flfth annual East Central Community College 5K Run/Walk will kick offhomecoming activ– ities scheduled Saturday, Oct. 8, in Decatur. The run/walk starts at 7:30 a.m. on the north campus, near the Clark– Gay Baseball Complex. Entry fee is $20 per per– son. Checks should be made payable to the ECCCAlumniAssociation. Soccer action continues Friday, Sept. 9, as the Lady Warriors and Warriors travel to Southwest Mississippi Community College for non-division battles set for 2 and 4 p.m. on the Summit campus. The next home games are scheduled with Hinds Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Game times are 2 and 4 p.m. Kenneth Thompson serves as ECCC soccer coach.
East Central Community College and Jones County Junior College men's soccer squads battled to a 2-2 deadlock in double over– time Friday, Sept. 2 on the Decatur campus. Freshman McGee Ledbetter of Heritage Academy scored on a free kick and sophomore Erik Dries tallied on a header assisted by sophomore Joey Lawn of West Lauderdale for the Warriors, whose record stands at 0-2-1 after earli– er defeats to Co-Lin and Gulf Coast.
