Rickey Bradley on the next play to extend Pearl River's lead to 31-13 with 2:25 to go in the third period. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter. EC did reach the Wildcat 33, only to turn the ball over on downs. The Wildcats scored on their second possession of the game as German connected with Jonathan Duncan on an 8-yard touchdown pass with 5:15 remaining in the first quarter. The Warriors closed to within 7-6 with 13:06 to go in the second quarter on an 11-yard touchdown toss over the middle from Mitch Manley to Corey Collier. Pearl River up 14-6. EC failed to take advantage of a 6-yard Wildcat punt that had the Warriors in business at the Pearl River 23 as LaVadius Lyles fum– bled the ball back on the next play. Pacer Frierson extended the Wildcats' lead to 17-6 with a 26- yard field to begin the third quar– ter. German found Bradley for a 36-yard gain to the 10 to set up the field goal.
EC answered with a 28-yard scoring drive after a 48-yard kick- off return by Jimmie Broomfield.-–
Thames had runs of 15 and nine yards with the second producing a touchdown that pulled EC to with- in 17-13 with 8:14 remaining in the third quarter.
