Once a Collegian... Aiways a Collegian Houser helps 'Army of Tom'

Saturday's benefit con– cert for Tom Carson turned into a family affair when his sons, Jeremy and Chris, joined Tom during the fmale for the Collegian's favorite closer "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll", with help from daughter Jennifer and headliner Randy Houser, a Carson protege. Houser, a Lake native and ECCC alumnus, dona tcJ his time and talents to performat the concert, which raised approximately $10,000

for the Army of Tom Fund, designated to assist Carson with medical and other expenses in his battle with esophageal cancer. Carson, who recently complet– ed six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy to battle the cancer, is scheduled for surgery on December 1. Also performing for the benefit concert were several bands, Cotton Row, South Bound, Deluxe Southern Impalas, Remedy, and Rico and the Border Patrol. Several band members are ECCC alumni and former members of the Collegians.
