ECCC Public Information StaffHonored Various honors were presented to the East Central Community College Public Information staff at the 20 II College Public Relations Association of Mississippi Conference held May 23-24 at the EoIa Hotel inNatchez. Awards included first-place for the EC Express, a campus newsletter published three times annually and sent to juniors and seniors in the College's five-county district, and third-place for The Warrior alumni magazine, which is also published and distributed three times annually. From left are Karen Robertson, ad– ministrative assistant to the vice president for public information; Gennie Phillips, publi– cations coordinator; Bubby Johnston, vice president for public information; and Maria McLeod, assistant to the vice president for public information. Robertson also won indi– vidual honors in graphic design. Her "Fear the Spear Football Card" captured a first-place award; the "Softball Poster Schedule" placed third; and her "Football Poster Schedule" received honorable mention. Phillips and her publications staff also received numerous honors at the O.C. McDavid Journalism Conference held earlier in the spring semester. McLeod is responsible for the layout and most of the content for the award-winning EC Express and Warrior publications. She also serves as secretary on the CPRAM Board. Johnston also received a third-place award for his news story, "Be AU That You Can Be." The CPRAM membership includes public relations staffmembers representing the state's community and junior colleges, four-year colleges and universities.
