Kortbawi, Hill, and Ernie Tnplen were credited with an RBI each. Rtght-hander Tyler Dalton was the win– rung pitcher and improved to 5-1 on the sea– son He hurled the fmal 1 2/3 innings and alloy,ed one hit. He fanned one batter and walked one. Starter Barry Meeks went 5 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on three hits. He fanned four and walked one. ln the second game, EC jumped out to a 4- 0 lead in the first inning and held off a late rally by the Wildcats. Long led the offense with a double and cwo smgles and had two RBI. Tabb con– tributed two singles and Andre Yates had a double. Singles each were recorded by Kortbawi, Stokes, Triplett, and Darmaal Moore. Moore, Kortbawi, Hill, and Yates were credited with an RBI each. Starter Colton Mitchell was the winning pttcber and improved to 6-2 on the season. The southpaw went six innings and allowed three runs on five hits. He also fanned three and walked three. Lefty Willard Bacon hurled 1/3 inning and allowed two runs on one hit. He also walked a batter. Long pitched the final 2/3 inning and fanned one and walked two. After hosting Copiah-Lincoln in a division doubleheader on Tuesday, the Warriors will host Meridian Community College at 5 p.m. today. The MCC game is a nine-inning con– test. ECCC concludes regular season action with Jones at noon Saturday, May 1, at Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson. Two seven– inning contests are scheduled. The Diamond Warriors are led by head coach Neal Holliman and assistants Michael Avalon and Hunter Vick.

ECCC came away with a split in the Apnl 21 doubleheader at Summit. ECCC left with a 32-10 overall record and 12-6 divisiOn mark. Southwest went to 23-21 and 7-13. ECCC managed just five hits in the loss, one ofwhich was a home run by Quin Stokes Singles each were recorded by Donrue Tabb, Richie Long, Ernie Triplett, and Vmcent Kortbawi. Southpaw Bobby Bryan took the loss. Bryan allowed three runs on five hits through 2 2/3 innings. He also fanned two and y, alked one. In the second contest, KonbaWl homered. and Charles Hill and Blake Lawson both belt– ed doubles to lead the EC offense Other sluggers were Long and Andre Yates with singles each. Right-hander Allen Johnson was the \\in– ning pitcher. Johnson allowed four hits and no earned runs through 6 2/3 innings. He also fanned stx and walked two. ECCC 4~ Pearl River 3-5 The Warriors rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 4-3 vtcto– ry in the first game, and withstood a late four– run rally and held on for a 6-5 win m the nightcap to take a pair of contests from Pearl River Community College Fnday at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. With the sweep, the Warriors improved to 34-10 overall and 14-6 in the MACJC South Dtvision. EC shares the division lead with Hinds Jones County is third at 13-7 followed by Gulf Coast (11-11), Pearl River (10-12), Southwest (7-13) and Copiah-Lincoln (3-17).
