The two squads also split a doubleheader held earlier in the season on the Decatur campus. In the first game, ECCC trimmed a 7-l defic1t by scoring four runs m the fifth inning. but could get no clos– er. Delta 6-1 The Warriors improved to 31-9 fonowmg a double– header sweep of Mississippi Delta Saturday afternoon in a non-division battle held at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex on the Decatur campus. Several Warriors had multiple hits in the opener and the EC offense kept rolling in the second contest in a 14-l blowout. The EC pitching staff allowed just two hits in shutting down the Trojan offense to complete the sweep.
