In the second game, Long slammed two home runs and collected four RBls, Hill belted a home run and single and had three RBis, and Tabb contributed a dinger and two RBis to lead EC sluggers. Other hitters were Kortbawi with a double and a single and Triplett and Yates, doubles each. Right-bander Allen Johnson was the winning pitcher. Johnson, a product of LeakeAcademy, pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief and allowed just one hit. Starter Colton Mitchell of Lake went 2 2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits. The southpaw also fanned two and walked one. Lefty Austin Buchanan ofNeshoba Central hurled a scoreless fmal inning and did not allow a hit.

ECCC took the lead in the top of the sixth when lead off batter Charles Hill reached on an error, Quin Stokes sin– gled, and Richie Long loaded the bases with a walk. That set the stage for Blake Lawson's two-run sin– gle. Donnie Tabb got the loss despite facing only four bat– ters (two bits, one strikeout), while Allen Johnson went three innings, giving up two hits, striking out three, walk– ing one, and hitting five bat– ten•. Cal Cossich went 2 1/3 mnings, giving up two hits, stnkmg out two, walking one, and hitting a batter. Each team finished with six hits. Ernie Triplett paced the Warriors with two singles. In the nightcap, the Wildcats scored solo runs in the second and third innings, then blew things open with a seven-run barrage in the fourth. The Warriors scored two in the sixth and one in the seventh. Starter Brett Blaise (3-5) got the win in going the dis– tance, giving up four hits, striking out eight, and walk– ing eight. With the wins, the Warriors improved to 24-8 overall and 6-4 in the MACJC South Division. ECCC is currently tied for second in the South with Jones. Hawkins also smashed a two-run dinger in The River's 9-3 nightcap win as the Wildcats improved to 15- 16 overall and 6-4 in division play. ECCC dropped to 22-8 and 4-4.
