ECCCsweeps Delta, Southwest East Central Community

The Warriors improved to 22-6 overall and 4-2 in the MACJC South Divtsion with Saturday's sweep at Decatur A stx-run fifth-inning pro– pelled f:.C to a I0-4 victory in the opener, and the Diamond Warriors jumped out to a quick 9-2, third inning lead in the nightcap to complete the sweep. Donnie Tabb of Neshoba Central homered and had two RBI to lead the F.C om~nse in the fust game. Other slug– gers were Charles Hill, dou– ble and single: Blake Lawson of Btloxi, double and three RBI; Quinn Stokes, double; Rtchie Long, smgle and two RBI; and Ricardo Vcle7. of TruJillo Alton. Puerto Rico, single. Freshman right-hander Tyler Dalton got the win in relief, as he allowed one run on two hits through three innings. Starter Barry Me~ks, a freshman right-hander from Patrician Academy in Sweetwater, Ala., went four innings. allowing three runs on three hits. Delta 2-1 Quin Stokes of Carthage and Andre Yates of Grenada each blasted home mns and collected two RBI apiece in the first game at Moorhead on March 24 to lead the EC offense. Stokes also pro– duced a single. Other s luggers were Vincent Kortbawi, two sin– gles; and Donnie Tabb. Richie Long, Ricardo Velez, and Ernie Triplett, singles each. Southpaw Pervis Mann of Carthage went the distance in earning the victory on the mound. Mann allowed just two earned mns on six hits through nine innings. He also fanned seven and walked one. In the second game, Kortbawi was the top slugger with three singles. Also recording multiple hits were Yates, Stokes, and Long, who each belted two singles. Darmaal Moore with a dou– ble, and Tabb with a single. Stokes led in RBis with two.
