Lady Warriors rally for split at Co-Lin East Central Commumty
Hurler Kas1e Buckley of Newton County notched the win to remain perfect on the season with a 13-0 record. Buckley allowed three earned runs on 13 bits during the seven-inning matchup. She also fanned tv•o batters and walked one. In the opener, East Central let an early 3-0 lead slip away as the Lady Wolves rallied to force extra innings and pushed across the winning run in the bot– tom of the eighth. The Lady Diamond Warriors managed just three h1ts in the loss, a three-run homer by Lee, a double by Nicholas, and single from llolscn. Taylor Bailey took the loss on the mound, allowing three earned runs on 12 hits. Bailey also fanned four and walked two. She is a product of Bowie High School in Austm, Texas. after previ– ously pitching at Southeast Lauderdale. A non-division double– header scheduled for last Friday at Northeast Mississ– ippi Community College in Booneville was cancelled.
College's softball team ral– lied from a 5-0 deficit to claim a 7-6 win from in the second school game of a dou- reports blcheader with Copiah-Lincoln Community College last Wednesday in Wesson, earning a spht ofthe MACJC South Division dou– bleheader after falling 4-3 in the opener. The Lady Diamond Warriors, whose record stands at 22-3-1 overall fol– lowing the split, was led at the plate in the second con– test by Lauren "licholas of Neshoba Central with a dou– ble, two singles, and two RBI. Also producing multiple hits were Paige Holsen of Union, Leake Academy product Hannah Lee of Philadelphia and Halley Chisolm of Neshoba Central. Holscn and Lee each had a double and a single with two RBis. Chisolm was credited with two smgles Morgan Malone of Madison Central contributed a single and a RBr and Brittany Cochran of Newton County singled.
