Warriors continue to rack up victories Quinn Stokes blasted a three-run homer and Andre Yates added a two-run shot to lead East Central Community College to an 11-1 thumping over Kishwaukee (111.) Community College on March 8 at Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. from The Diamond Warriors school followed that victory with a reports 12-9 decision over Tyler Right-hander Allen Johnson of Leake Academy was the winning pitch– er. Johnson went the distance in the five-inning contest, allowing one run on four bits. He also fanned five. In the win over Tyler. freshman Blake Lawson went 4-for-4 to lead the offense. Lawson. an Infielder from Biloxi, slammed a double and three sin– gles and was credited w1th t\\o RBls. Long also had a producme ouung, belt– ing three smgles w1th two RBls. three hits in the top ofthe ninth. He also walked two. ECCC 14-12 Hibbing (Minn.) , 0-0 The Warriors made quick work of the Cardinals from Minnesota in Saturday's doubleheader sweep at Decatur. Charles Hill led the Warriors in the opener with a double and a grand slam. Richie Long also had a pair of hits. Pervis Mann got the win.

Triplett was also credited with two RBis, and Tabb and Hill knocked in a run each. Richie Long of Carthage had two RBis.

Other sluggers were Yates and Stokes. who each singled. Right-hander Tyler Dalton (2-0) of Louisville got the win. Dalton, a prod– uct of Winston Academy, allowed one run on two hits through six innings. He also fanned two and walked one. In the second game, Long homered and had two hits, while Kevin Harris of Ne\\ ton had four hits, including a dou– ble. Tyler Dalton had a pair of doubles. Ernie Triplett got the win as the Warriors improved to 16-4. The losses dropped Hibbing to 0-12 in the Spring tour of Mississippi and Alabama. tn the 12 games, the Division ITT (non-scholarship) Cardinals were outscored 170-9. East Central was slated to travel to Perkinston Tuesday to take on Mississippi Gulf Coast in a MACJC South Division doubleheader. The Warriors return home to host Hinds in another division doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
