"You know you can't really replace an Emmanuel Taylor," said Anderson. MHe was one of those special players that don't come around too often We are trying to compensate for tha; loss by b.ringing in two quarterback athletes that should really help us out tremendously." Those two quarterbacks are Blake Matherne and Dustin Land. each of whom brings an impressive resume with them. Matherne was named Mr. Football in Louisiana in 2008, while Land, who played high school ball in Florida, originally signed with Division I Iowa State. ··we're excited about our quarter– backs," noted Anderson. Former Quitman standout Radarious Owens and Newton County standout Fred Smith are among the top offensive returners for the Warriors. Owens, a wide receiver. had 37 catches for 494 yards and two touchdowns in his freshman cam– paign. while Smith will do his part to lead the offensive line. "Radarious brings talent and leadership to the table," said Anderson. "He's a great guy on and off the field and we will look to himfor leadership on that side of the ball." See ECCC on page 55
