Tabb, the 1,292nd pick overall in the draft, as well as his family, were excited when they heard the news he had been taken. "Its great! It really is a great feeling, " said Tabb. "My family and I had been watching the draft. I had walked in the kitchen and ,my name came up and my family got really drafted for the longest and it finally happened. I'm thankful I got drafted." East Central will have to do without it's multi– skilled star for the 2011 season as Tabb intends on moving on and become a part of the Mets organiza– tion. "I'm going to go ahead and go, 11 said Tabb. 11 1 talked to coach Holliman and he said if this is what I want then go ahead and go and that he was happy for me." Tabb believes that he will succeed in his endeavor and plans to use the same work ethic that got him to the point he is at now. "I think I'm going to do fine. base, left, right and center field. Wherever Ecce coach Neal Holliman needed the freshman to play he per– formed exceptionally. That being said, it doesn't come as a surprise that Tabb was taken Wednesday in the MLB Draft by the New York Mets in the 43rd round. "He's a great player for us, said Holliman. "He played anywhere from left, center, right, short, second and pitcher for u He was so versatile and allowed us to do so many different things in the lineup because of that ver– satility. Mainly he was center field." Holliman has known Tabb for some time now and has enjoyed watching Tabb come into his own as a player and a person. The Warrior freshman hit .345 with three home runs, 16 doubles and two doubles in earning second-team All-State honors. He also drove in 48 runs and scored 55 times. "I've known him for three years now and it has been really interesting to see him develop and mature not only as a player, but as a person," added Holliman. "He's got

a xery good work ethic and comes from a really good family. He 's got things headed in the right direction as a player and as an individual."
