CULPEPPER Carthaginian awarded EC scholarship Sophomore nursing major Corinne Culpepper of Carthage is the reCipi– ent of the Stella Weathersby Newsome Scholarship at East Central Community College. The schQlarship honors the memory of Ms. Newsome, who served the college as a literature instructor and in various other capacities for 30 years from 1928-58, and is awarded each year to a freshman nontraditional student 23 years old or older who enrolls as a full– time student on the Decatur campus.
