ore than 90 scholarships totaling approxi– mately $70,000 were awarded at the AT&T Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon held July 16 at East Central Community College in Decatur. AT&T ha pon ored the scholar– ship appreciation luncheon since 2003 which honors both the recipenys and the donors.
Lauren :-\icholas (left) is the 2009 recipient of The William Wade Long Scholarship. Nicholas is a graduate of Neshoba Central High School. The scholar hip was endowed in 2006 in memory of Wade by his parents, Gail and Dwight Long. Representing the donors is Rusty Long (right).
Lanra Gunn, a Lake High School graduate, is the 2009 recipient of The Sylvia Ann Graham Haywood Scholarshipl. The scholarship was established in memory of Mrs. Haywood by her husband, William Thomas Haywood, a for– mer business manager at ECCC.
Hayden Weaver, a Newton County High School grdaute, is the 2009 recipient of The Johnson Family Engineering Scholarship presented during the AT&T Schola rship. The scholarship was estab– lished in memory of Lee E. and Lizzie Graham Johnson by the children.
Ashley Walker, A Union High grad, is the 2009 recipient of The Arno and Ruth Carr Vincent Scholarship. The scholar– ship was established in 1999 in recognition of the former president and first lady of ECCC who served from 1953-62.
