MOORE RECEIVES NATIONAL BETA CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
SUBMITTED PHOTO The National Beta Club would like to announce that Jennifer Moore has been named a Beta Scholar, which entitles her to a scholarship award of $1,000. Moore, a 2009 graduate of Forest High School, competed against more than 1,000 candi– dates nationwide for this honor, of which, 215 recipients were chosen. She plans to attend East Central Community College and Mississippi State University to major in elementary education, and become certified in special education. Moore was recommended for this award by the local Beta Club sponsors, Chantelle Herchenhahn high school principal and assistant principal, Tim Moore and Alan Atkison, respectively. "This out– standing young person represents the true spirit of National Beta, having excelled not only aca- demically, but in leadership and service to school and community as well," said Ken Cline, executive director of t he National Beta Club. Moore is the daughter of Buddy and Shirley Moore. Her grand– parents are the late Wilburn and Lily Winstead of Forest, and the late J.D. Moore and the late Velma Malone, both of Carthage.
