The Warriors defeated Holmes 27-24 for their only win and sustained losses to Coahoma (32-31), Hinds (30-7) and Jones (32-10). EC has scored 75 points and allowed 118 points. The Bears clipped Mississippi Delta 13-12 in the season opener for their lone victory, followed by losses to Coahoma (34-21) , Gulf Coast (33-16) and Copiah-Lincoln (15-3). Southwest has scored 53 points and allowed 81. East Central is ranked fourth in rushing offense in the s tate and 11th nationally by compiling I 831 yards on 122 carries, a 207.7- yard average. Warriors rushers have scored two touchdowns. Sophomore running back Der- rick Carle is ranked fourth in individual rushing with 377 yards on 60 carries, a 6.3-yard average. Carle, who has one touchdown to his credit, is ranked 15th nationally. He is a product ofTuscaloosa Central High School. Quarterback Emmanuel Taylor is rated sixth among the state's rushers by compiling 285 I yards on 41 carries, a 6.9-yard average. Taylor, who hails from Early County High School in Blakely, Ga., is ranked 27th nationally. He has also scored one touchdown. Southwest is last in rushing offense with a 30.5-yard average.
