Rotary hosts ECCC speakers

Staffers from the East Central Community College Workforce Development Center were the guest speakers at the October 21 Louisville Rotary Meeting. Chris Clark, ECCC Workforce Development Coordinator spoke of the growing number of truck driving classes that are being offered in Louisville and the importance of bringing the train– ing locally. Joseph Knight (pictured), ECCC Workforce Development Advanced Skills Training Coordinator, spoke of establishing Employee ~omprehensive Certification Centers (EC3) all over the state using technologically advanced training in order to better prepare our workforce to compete globally. ECCC has begun this effort in three of their five counties in their district. The Career Advancement Center in Louisville, located at the old Spartus facility, is the second to open with the first being in Philadelphia and the third in Newton. Knight went on to introduce Shelley Thomas, the newest member of the workforce development team who will serve as an advanced skills trainer at the Louisville facility.
