This "live" homecoming scene featuring mostly East Central Community College staff members received top honors in the annual display competition held as part of homecoming activities Oct. 3 on the Decatur campus. In front, from left, are Joe Killens, vice president of student services, shown portraying ECCC President Dr. Phil A. Sutphin after he crowns "Queen" Romonica Evans, recruiter/Tech Prep Center director; and (in back, from left) "Wall 0' Sound Band member" Chris Clark, workforce development coordinator; "Centralette" Brenda Cheatham, secretary to the vice president for student services; "Warrior fan" Keli Barrett of Decatur, ECCC freshman; and "cheerleader" Lanette Hanna and "Warrior football player" Michael Alexander, academic counselors. The spirited group represented Warrior Corps and the Student Body Association, which received the $175 first-place prize. Also receiving cash prizes were ECSTR (Surgical Technology), second place, $150; College publications (yearbook and newspaper), third, $100; and SkillsUSA and Phi Beta Lambda, fourth, $75. The homecoming display competition is coordinated though the Office of Adult and Continuing Education.
