ECCC event emphasizes career– technical programs SPECIAL TO THE TIMES Information on career-technical programs offered at East Central Community College will be available to area high school students during the annual Career-Technical Showcase planned on the Decatur campus. Two events are once again scheduled to accommodate the expected large turnout, according to Wayne Eason, dean of career-technical education. "We anticipate about 500 high school students to attend each event, which have proven to be excellent ven– ues for recruiting purposes," Eason said. "By attending the 'Showcase,' students will have an excellent opportu– nity to interact with instructors of our career-technical programs as well as EC students while oncampus. We are excited to have our special visitors on campus and look forward to having them as ECCC students in the future." I "Showcases" are scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23 in the South campus gym. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. during which time the I ECCC Drum Line will perform. Students will have the opportunity from 9 to 11 a.m. to receive information from career-technical faculty members by visiting the various information booths. Lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to noon, with entertainment by Rico and the Border Patrol.
