ECCC Celebrates Black History Month

APPEARED IN: East Central Community College in Decatur held its annual Black History Month program on Feb. 25 in the Vickers Fine Arts Auditorium. The featured speaker, Brenda K. Johnson, who serves as sponsor for the ECCC Gospel Choir and assis– tant dormitory supervisor, spoke about how African Ameri– cans have overcome challenges throughout the progression of time. ECCC Athletic and Academic Hall of Fame member and fonner ECCC basketball standout the Rev. Marcus Mann served as the master ofceremonies. Mann. who played for the National Basketball Association following his college career, is the chaplain at COPAC Rehabilitation Facility and is the pastor of Sylvarena Baptist Church in Bmndon.
