from staff reports The East Central Commu– nity College baseball team couldn 1 t hang on to an earl) lead in the opener of a double– header Wednesday, falling to Pearl River 11-9. The Wildcats then shut down theWarriors 8- l in the nightcap. ECCC jumped on top of the visiting Wildcats, leading 9-2 after three innings in the first game. However, Pearl River ral– lied for two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and four in the seventh to stun the Warriors. DrewWilson suf– fered the los~ for East Central. Leading the Warriors offen– sively was Daniel Eichelberger, who homered. Tyler Davis added two hits and Kylie Ming went 1-for-3. The offensive continued to sputter in the nightcap, as the Warriors managed just two hits -one each from ZeEricka Hall and Eichelberger. Pearl River !\COred two in the first. two in the fourth and then put the game away with four in the sixth. East Central scored its lone run in the sixth, as Lance Gibson took the loss.
