ECCC students win national awards East Central Commumty College students returned to theDecatur campus with first-place awards for the first time and other honors follow- ing competition at the 2008 National Phi Beta lambda leadership Conference held earlier this summer in Atlanta, Ga. Harri– son of Uttle Rock. and leslie Nash and Josh Dickerson both of Union - won top hono ors m the Parliamentary Pro– cedure competitJ!lll and Will be inducted mto the M1ss1s– sippt PBl Hal of Fame at the organ zation's State leader– ship Conference 1n 2009 Brookes Mayes of Newton also received special recogn~ tion at the national confer– ence for being selected to PBL:s Who's Who in MisSissip– pi. She was given the highest recognition of any MissiSSIPPI PBL member. Mayes teamed with Rice and Dickerson to finiSh seienth in the Small Busmess Plan competition. Also winning honors at the national event were Ann Valentine of Hickory and leslie Hollingsworth of Fares~ second place, Community SeMce Project Dollye Packer of lake and Sabra Fortenber· ry of Umon, third, E-business; Nash, fifth, Local Chapter Annual Business Report; Shaun Cooper of Decatur, eighth, Word Processing; and Brooke Barrett of Union, lOth, Partnership With Busi ness Project
