8 countians ioin ECCC honor group Eight Leake County stu– dents were among 87 East Central Community College stud~nts recently tapped for membership into Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa, the inter– national honor society for two– year colleges, is to promote scholarship, develop character and cultivate fellowship among academically superior students. Membership is by invita– tion only and requires a mini– mum 3.5 grade point average earned as a full-time student. Leake County students ini– tiated into the chapter includ– ed Gwendolyn Crumbley, Brit– ni Harve:h Aaron Mann, Lacey McMurry, Virginia Mitchell , Ashley Pigg and Emily Wooten, all of Carthage; and Brittany Harrison, Lena.
