A 1938 graduate of Sebastopol High -chool. he worked his way through then East Central Jumor College and Missis::.ippi ~tate Univer– sity by milking coy;=: ovmed by the colleges. He wa:-- a member of the Class of 1940 at ECJC. Following hi:, graduation from ~1ST.;. After sen;ng more than 30 years with the bureau. he retired to Allen. Texas. where he worked more than 20 years in the garden center and as a greeter for a di, count store. Lathem . known for his belief in the value of education and work ethic, retired at the age of 87. Trey McNeece ioins ECCC honor society Brandon Trey McNeece, of Carthage, has joined approxi– mately 90 East Central Com– munity College st udents tapped for membership in the Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa during the spring induction ceremony held earli– er on campus. The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa, an international h onor society for two-year colleges, is to promote scholarship, devel– op character and cultivate fel– lowship among academically superior students. Membership is by invita– tion only and requires a mini– mum 3.5 grade point average earned as a full-time student.
