ECCC student named 6 I~ew Century Scholar'

East Central Community College sophomore Beth Alexander of Little Rock displays a certtficate she received for being named a New Century Scholar in recognition of her success mthe All-USAAcademic Team competition. Alexander scored the highest grade on the exam and received a S2,000 stipend funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. She officially received the honor at the Ameri– can Association of Community Colleges convention held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 5-7. Alexander was earlier named to the 2008 All-Mississippi Academic First Team and received a S1 ,000 stipend to continue her education. She most recently was select– ed on the All-USAAcademic Third Team for Community and Junior Colleges. TheAll– Mississippi Academic Team is coordinated by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Soctety. Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges, Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior College and The Clarion-Ledger.
