RECEIVES BURKES, MOSAL SCHOLARSHIPS AT ECCC: East Central Community College sophomore Shaun Cooper (left) of Decatur is the recipient of the 2008 Ann H.

Burkes Scholarship and the 2008 Dr. Margaret Mosal Memorial Scholarship. Established in 1999 to honor.the life and works of Ann Hunter Burkes (right) of Decatur, a longtime employee and Phi Theta Kappa advisor at East Central, the Burkes Scholarship is awarded to a returning Phi Theta Kappa member. The Mosal Scholarship was endowed by the late Dr. Shelby Harris to.honor Dr. Mosal, former executive director of Phi Theta Kappa, the interna- tional honor society of the two-year college. The award was presented during the College's annual AT&T Scholar- ship Appreciation Luncheon held Thursday, June 14, in Mabry Memorial Cafeteria
