ECCC student identified • m campus incident (DECATUR)A 23-year-old male fromRidgeland has been identi– fted as the East Central Community College student whose body was found in his donn room Tuesday morning (Feb. 26) on theDecaturcam- pus. MarkMcEachern, who offi– cials say was the victim of an appar– ent self-inflicted gunshot wound, was · a cosmetology student at East Cen– tral where he enrolled in classes last fall, according toECCCPresident Dr. Phil A. Sutphin. McEachern had only recently moved into campus housing. McEachern attended Madison Cen– tral High School and was a 2002 graduate ofThe Education Center. He also attended Hinds CommunityCol– lege and Mississippi State University. "We again want to express our deep– est sympathies to Mark's family dur– ing this most trying time," said Dr. Sutphin. Counselors were available on campus to assist students and College personnel in copmg with the tragedy.
