Lady Diamond Warriors split with EMCC, sweep HCC East Central Community

In the second contest, EC sluggers were Laura Smith. two singles; Amy Sharp of Nesboba Central, triple: Brass, double; and Hillie, White. Chipley, and Lindsey Stevens and Kristen Pillsbury~ both er Newton County, srngles each. Amber Smith of Union took the loss for EC on the mound, allowing seven earned runs on eight hits through three and two– thirds innings. Erin Breland of Philadelphia burled one inning of middle relief. Russell pitched the fmal one and one-thirds innings. The Lady Diamond Warriors took a pair of division matchups from Holmes Community College, Cruising 12-4 in the first game and 6-1 in the second contest to complete the sweep. ECCC sweeps Holmes

College's fast-p itch softball team split a doubleheader with East Mississippi Community College Saturday afternoon, winning the flrst contest 9-3 and falling 13-8 in the second game. With the split, EC's record stands at 14-12 overall. The Lady Diamond Warriors sport a 3-l mark in the MACJC Central Division, thanks to their sweep of division foe Holmes Community College March 25 in Decatur. In the win over the Lady Lions, Hailey Chipley of Carthage led the offense with three singles and three RBis. Codee Russell of Leake Academy got the win for EC on the mound, allowing three earned runs on 10 hits through seven innings. She fanned four batters and walked one.

In the second contest, Hillie led EC at the plate with a home run, double and single. She also scored twice and was credited with four RBls. Amber Smith got the win for EC on the mound, allowing one run on five hits through seven innings.

In the first game, Brass led the offense with a home run and two singles. She also scored three times and was also credit– ed with two RBis. Russell was the winning pitcher, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits. She fanned two batters.
