Homestanding East Central Community Coll~ge took advantage of a little wildness by th(' visiting team to sweep a double– header from Mercyhurst Northeast Wednesdav afternoon in Decatur. The Warriors won 12-0 in the opener, th~n took a 5-0 win in the nightcap to improve to 9-6 on the season. In Game 1, East Central's Steven Barnes (2-0) struck out five and gave up just three hits in five innings of work. He walked no one. Offensively, the Warriors got a double and four RBfs from Deon Williams and a triple and two RBis from Josh Laffeny. In the second game, East Central ..,cored four times in the bottom of the first inning and coasted to another shutout win. Jared Clark (2-0) went five innings on the hill to get the win, striking out six and giving up two hits. Offensively, Carey Miller doubled and drove in two runs to lead EC. The Warriors go to ltawamba Saturday. -Rocky Higginbotham East Mississippi Southwest Tennessee 19-6 15-1 The Lions improved to 10-2 on the season with a doubleheader sweep Wednesday night in Scooba, winning a 19- 15 slugfest in the opener and then taking a 6-1 win in the nightcap. EMCC will be back in action Saturday at Crawley Ridge, Ark. Wednesday, the Lions scored 11 limes in the bottom of the first inning and three times in the second - but were still up just 14-10 before holding on. Jonathan Wray, the third of six EMCC pitchers, got the win in relief to move to 4-0 on the year. At the plate, Ben Fleming and Tyler Weston each hit two home run" to lead Scooba Tech. Fleming was 2-for-3 with a double and 1 two RBJs to lead EMCC, which scored three times each in the third and fourth innings.
