EC Lady Warriors., Warriors post wins over Southwest

East Central Community College's nationally ranked Lady Warriors snapped a two– game skid with an 85-66 thump– ing of the Southwest Community College Lady Bears and the Warriors held\on for a 72-71 decision over the Bears in MACJC South Division action Monday night in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education BuildiQg in Decatur. Head coach Bill Smith was obviously pleased with the per– formance of the 24th ranked Lady Warriors, who improved to 17-4 overall and 8-3 in league play. Rashima Jenkins, a 5-9 freshman forward and product of Airline High School in Bossier City, La., led EC in scoring with 26 points. Choctaw Central product Mystee Dale, also a freshman forward at 5-8, also bad a productive evening with 20 points. Other scorers were Tanesha Brown of Jackson Provine. 12; Tawayatha Evans of Newton, nine; Jordan Patterson of Oak Hill Academy, five; Alisha McAfee of Northwest Rankin and Allison Phillips of Leake Academy, four each; Nicole Williams of Newton, three; and Chotsani Henderson, also of Newton. two. Kimberly Griffin of Woodville bad 20 points to lead Southwest, which fell to 14-6 and 6-5. ln the men's contest, Southwest's Phillip Brown missed a shot in the final sec– onds and Warrior Justin Brown got the rebound as ECCC held on for the victory.
