ECCC hoops players move on to 4-year schools The Newton Record Three members of the East Central Community College men's basketball team recently signed scholarships to continue their.careers on the uni– versity level, announced Steve Hampton, Warrior head coach. Johnny Hodge, a 6-4 for– ward, will continue his career at Delta State Uni– versity, while Rodney Turner, also a 6-4 forward and Pierre Barlow, a 6-1 guard, signed with the University of West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas. Hodge, a product of Ouachita High School in · Monroe, La.. averaged 15 ' points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals during the Warriors' suc– cessful 2005-06 campaign. He was the named the Warriors' best offensive player and best rebounder, and was selected to the All-Region 23. All-Region 23 Tournament, flrst team All-State and AU-Star teams.
