I ECCC's season in Region 23 toume

Season competition has come to an end for the East Central Community College Lady Warriors who were defeated 63-52 by Copiah-Lincoln Com– munity College in first– round action of the Region 23 Tournament being held March 6-9 at Mississippi College's A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clin– ton. ' The East Central women, who finished 17 10 tmder first-year head coach Billy Smith, were led by Lake High School product Valerie Harris who pumped in 18 points. "We didn't shoot a very high percentage." East Central coach Billy Smith said. "We missed a lot of easy shots early on and I think the~ had a lot to do with that because they are very physical We missed a lot of free ~hrows and that killed us.··

Also scoring for the Lady Warriors were Shannon Lloyd of West Lauderdale. 15; Sara Judice, of Teurlings Catholic HS in Lafayette, La., seven; LaSaundra Harrison of Union. five; Andrea Dubose of New– ton County, three; and Heather Steele of Nanih Waiya and Jessica Ander– son of Newton, two each. Jennifer Carter of Magee had 13 points to lead the Lady Wolves, who improved to 19-7. ~·we gave up a lot of offensive rebounds," Smith said. "Give them a lot of credit though.
