The East Central Com– munity College Lady Warriors defeated Hinds and Southwest in last week's basketball action by Marty Stamper as they im– proved to 16-7 overall and 9-3 in the MACJC South Division. The Warriors lost to Hinds. but beat Southwest as they went to 17-6 overalJ and 8-4 in division play. The EC teams wrap up their regular season at home against Pearl River on Thursday. Play begins in the MACJC State Tournament at Northwest Mississippi Community College on Feb. 27. EC women 85 Hinds 59 The Lady Warriors took a 40-24 lead into halftime and led by as many as 35 points in the second half in crushing the Lady Bulldogs on Feb. 13 at Decatur. Valerie Harris led EC (15-7. 8-3) with 15 points. Jessica Anderson had 14, LaSaundra !Iarrison 11, Emily Massey and Dominetrix Hunter both had 10, Sara Judice nine, and Shannon Lloyd seven. "We got an opportunity to play everybody," Lady War– riors' head coach Bill Smith said.
