These East Central Community College students who are officers of Theta XI Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international hOf'\Or society for two-year colleges, display awards presented at region– al competit ion held at Hinds:.Communlty College In Raymond. Theta Xi received the Platinum Pin– nacle Scholarship Award, which Is presented to chapters whose membership increased by 20 per– cent from the previous semester. The award Includes a $250 gift certificate to be used at registra– tion at the Phi Theta Kappa International Convention scheduled April19-23 in Seattle, Washing– ton. Jalmee Jones (far right) of Louisville, who serves as Chapter president, received the Distin– guished President Award for the MlsslsslppVLouislana Region and was Inducted Into the presti– gious Order of the Golden Key, for her outstanding contribution to Theta Xi. Also pictured are (from left) Courtney Averett, vice president for leadership, of Conehatta; Molly Cleglo, vice presi– dent for scholarship, of Lake; and Laura Foreman, secretary, of Little Rock. Jones was also named . to the All-Mississippi Academic First Team and Foreman was a second team selection, an honor co-sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa.
