Music, art highlight ECCC Spring Fine Arts Festival

special to The Star DECATUR- An evening of art and music will be fea– tured during the Spring Fine Arts Festival at East Central Community College. The Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Chris Jenkins, will perform selec· tions from composers such as Mozart and Vivaldi, as well as songs from contem· por ary composers and arrangers. The theme of this year's pe rformance is "Mus ic Is .. ." "The mus ic to be pre· sented is grouped into the

four categories: ancient, psalms and spiritual songs, reflection and entertain· ment,'' Jenkins said. Featured performers include the Chamber Choir, a special selected ensemble, and Claire Stinson and Derek Taylor, both of Meridian, who will present their musical talents on the clarinet and trombone, respectively. Denise Dengler of Laud· erdale, an adjunct art instructor at East Missis– s ippi Community College. Dengler has a bachelor's degree from Mississippi University for Women and a master's degree from Syra· cuse University.
