team wins Pearl River tourney East Central Communi– ty College's fast -pitch soft– ball team improved to 11-2 after posting victories over all four onponents in a rotmd-robin tournament held March 1 'J·ll at the Timberton Complex in Hattiesburg and hosted by Pearl River Community College. The Lacly Diamond War– riors began tournament action by defeating .Jones Cotmty 4·2 and Gulf Coast 9-2 on FriclaJ~

Hight-fielder Erica Hardin of Louisville led EC at the plate with a dou– ble and two singles. First– baseman Lauren White of Union had a double 3!1d single, and singles wen! recorded by th.ird base– man Dominique Mapp. catcher Jem11 fer S111HI1 and DP Joy Cavenaugh, all of Newton Cotmty, anclleft fielder Allison McDaniel of Ncshoba C'ontral. Hardin also scored twict– for EC and single nms were recorded by Mapp and center fielder Lauren Kennedy of Union. East Central scored three runs in the first and added an insurance rtm in the sixth.
