ECCC Teams Sweep Jones East Central Community
College's Lady Warriors and Warriors posted key MACJC South Division victories over Jones County Junior College squads Monday night in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building on Dee'atur campus. The Lady Warriors -who led by as many 16 points in first-half action- held on for a 66-62 win and the Warriors rallied from an early 12- point deficit to claim a 71-68 decision. Shannon Lloyd of West Lauderdale had 18 points to lead the Lady Warriors who improved to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in league play under first-year head coach Billy Smith. Other EC point makers were LaSaundra Harrison of Union and Andrea Dubose of Newton County, II each; Sara Judice of Teurlings Catholic HS in Lafayette, La., nine; Valerie Harris of Lake and Jessica Anderson of Newton, six each; Amanda Schmidt of Carthage and Elyse ClayofScott Central, two each; and Emily Massey of East Rankin Academy, one.
