Although the Dunn to French connection provided the win– ning margin, the turning point of the season finale came when Warrior cornerback Jorrick Calvin intercepted Tiger quar– terback Octavious Smith on the EC goal-line midway in the third period and raced 83 yards to the Coahoma 15-yard-line. Calvin made the interception just when it appeared the Tigers were about to extend their 13-10 lead, which they earned on a 49-yard scamper by running back Marlon Meeks and Corder's PAT early in third quarter action. Coahoma had driven from its 20 yard-line to the EC 13 when Calvin made the pick on a first down play. EC was unable to penetrate the end zone following the inter– ception, although the Warriors

DECATUR An 11-yard pass from back-up quarterbackMike Dunn to wide receiver Katlan French midway in the fourth quarter lifted East Central Community College to a 20-13 win over Coahoma Community College in the season finale for both squads. The Warriors fmished their 2006 campaign with a 2-7 overall mark and were 0-6 in MACJC South Division competition. East Central's game-winning drive covered just 13 yards and was set up when Warrior defen– sive back Darnell Lytle blocked Jared Corder's punt on fourth and three from the Coahoma'13 with 9:22 left in the contest.
