Judge Gprdon began his career in 1959 as a self-employed attorney at the Gordon Law rirn1 that he shared at that time with his brother. Rex Sr.• and practiced law m Union until 1977. He served as Board Attorney for the Union Public School Dt~trict from 1960-1977: was attorney for the Clly of Union from 1959 to 1977; served as prosecuting attorney for Ne,., ton County' from 1964 to 1968; and served as attorney for the Newton County Board of Supervisors from 1989 to 1990 lie is a graduate of Union I !igh School. ECCC. the University of Mississippi (BBA, LLB 1959) and University of Mississippi School of Law (JD 1967). At Ole Miss. Gordon served as vice president of the Law School Student Body Association. Gordon attended EC during the fall of 1950. then served four years tn the military before returning to campus in the fall of 1955. Gordon voluntarily joined the united State~ Atr Force following hts freshman year and returned four years later. taking advantage of the G. I Bill to contmue his collegtate educauon. Circuit Judges, Chancel') Judges and Justice Court Judge~ He \\Ill serve as the keynote speaker for the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Assoctation Convention in October 2006 Judge Gordon is married to the forn1er P• •II)' Matthews (Class of 1954), who serves as guidance counselor at Union High School They ha\e four grown children. Craig Gordon (Class of 1980); Teresa Gordon Parker (Class of 1985): Darin Gordon (M1so;tss1ppi College. 1989) and Brian Gordon (Class of 1993), and 1\\0 grandchildren.
