She said the annual award is presented to a for– mer chapter member "who continues to exhibit the hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service in his or her person– al and professional endeav– ors." Lucas was inducted into Theta Xi Chapter in 1962. While a t ECCC, he lettered in footbal1 and baseball and held man v stu– dent leadership positions. Lucas serves as senior vice president at Newton Countv Bank and writes a sports' column for "The Ne\' ton Recora. He is also acti\'e in city, county and church– related acti' ities and is a member of the ECCC and ·• University of Mississippi alumni associations. His wife, Kay, is also an ECCC alumnus and they have three children and three grandchildren. Lucas is :¥town with ECCC faculty members Sylvia Wright (left) and Debbie Hammons who serve as Theta Xi advisors.
