FORMER ECCC PRESIDENT TURNS 90! Former ECCC pres1dent Walter Amo VIncent was honored on his 90th birthday Saturday, Feb. 25 in Mabry Memorial Cafe– teria on the Decatur campus. More than ·100

family members and friends attended the special event. Vincent, EC's third president, served from 1953-1962. Vin– cent is a member of the ECCC and University of Southern Mississippi Athletic Halls of Fame and received Alumnus of the Year recogmtion at both institutions. The administration building at ECCC is named 1n his honor. Vincent is also a former assistant superintendent of Meridian Public Schools and served as president of the Mississippi State Education Association. He resides m Petal with his wife, Winifred. Vin– cent's first wife, Ruth, 1s deceased. Vincent -a leap year baby - was born February 29. 1916.
