In Miss Una Harris, vvho taught English at East Central Junior College for many years, decided that the college should honor the mo5t out– standing students who grad– uated each year. She present– ed her idea to President Amo Vincent who presented it to the Board of Trustees. With the Board's appro\ al, the East Central Junior College Hall of Fame came into being. Criteria for selection were formulated, and the first four members of the Hall of Fame were &elected. They were: Harold Pace from Newton (Dr. Pace 1· now deceased.), Bonnie jean Hall from Decatur, Billy Sharp from House, and Jimmy Thrash from l\ewton. Over the years as enroll– nent grew, the number of 1956,
