EC adds trio of pitchers from combined reports Fresh off a Region 23 championship. East Cen– tral Communitv College head baseball coach Jake Yarborough has been busy on the recruiting trail in an attempt to reload for next season. Yarborough has announced three signees in lhe last week for the Diamond Warriors. all three of which could see action on the mound when they arrive at ECCC. Thompson's postseason honors included being named to the All-State, All-Region, All-District and All-Star teams. As a junior, he was ~-2 on the mound with a· 2.38 ERA and helped lead his squad to the 2004 state champi– onship. In picking up his team's Most Valuable Player hon– ors, Thompson .l also hit .361 with a couple of home runs, 10 doubles and 31 RBis; and he was the MVP in the Outlaw Classic in Dierks, Ark., as well as the Arkansas Class AA State Championship.

Duckworth signed his national letter-of-intent last week with the War– riors after posting a 9-3 record at Petal this past spring. The southpaw posted a spectacular earned-run average of 1.56 and struck out 105 batters for the Panthers, who went 30-8 and advanced to the Class SA state champi– onship. Savant, a 6-foot-1, 220- pound right-handed pitch– er and flrst baseman from Abbeville, La., was 3-1 on the hill with a 2.36 ERA. At the plate, he hit .367 with four home runs, picking up all-state honors in the process. Savant, who hit .400 with six homers during his junior season , also picked up All-Parish, All– District and All-Acadiana teams following his 2005 campaign. Thompson, a 6-foot, 160· pound right-handed pitch– er and infielder, was 14-3 on the mound with a 2.75 ERA as he led Junction City to the Arkansas state semifmals.
