ECCC Diamond Waniors add three signees for 2006

East Central Community College has signed three more baseball from players for the sch 1 2006 season, 00 announced reports ECCC head baseball coach Jake Yarborough. The latest signees are Cade Savant. a 6-foot-1, 220- pound right-handed pitcher/first baseman from Abbeville, La.: Sean Thompson, a 6-foot, 160- pound right-handed pitcher/infielder, from Junction City. Ark.: and Kevin Duckworth. a south– paw hurler from Petal High School. Savant, a former standout at North Vermilion High School, : went 3-1 on the mound l:luring his injury– plagued senior season, post ing a 2.36 earned run aver age. He also batted .367 with four home runs. He was named to the All– State, All-Parish, All-District and Ali-Acadiana teams fol– lowing the 2005 campaign. He batted .400 his junior year wjth six home runs.
