North teams post MACJC

from staff reports The North All-Star teams took a pair of wins over the South in the MACJC All-Star basketball games lwld at Choctaw Central High School on Saturday afternoon. The North men led by 15 points at halftime and pulled out a 129-99 victory. In tlw \\·omen's game, the Nor th All-Stars led br 13 at hali and took an 87-58 win. "The margin of victory was spread out in both butllwy were cnh·rtaining at both ends," said ECCC women's lwad coach Brad Hodge. ''There were a lot of trcmcndnus athletes playing and this was a good showcase." . The Lady Warriors sent three players to
the game and each played well. Kim Cox was a late addition to the South roster and played well in tht• contest. "Kim did an outstanding job," Hodge said "She played good defense and did the all the things she did for us all year. Sh<' just does the things that kind of go under tlw radar." Kristin Chanev and Kotreecc Bender came from softball and shook off the rust lo help represent East Central in the contest. Both playt>rs played well, and Bende r scored six points in the game. Karmcthia Maziquc rcpre~cntt>d Meridian Community Colleg<' in the game and played solid point guard for the South squad. Natalit' Jordan and Brittany Baham both
represented the Lady Bobcats of Jones County J unior College in the contest. Baham finished the night as the South's second leading scorer with 10 points. Ashley Howard of Holmes scored 17 points and Nikita Taylor of Northwest scored 15 to lead the North team. The two players wt:n • named co-IVIVP for the game.
