TI1e ECCC women. led by fourth-year head coach Brad Hodge, accomplished their goal Monday night by eammg a hard-fought 99- 88 double ovcrhme thriller over rival Meridian Community College before a packed Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building on the Decarur campus. With the victory. EC' improved to 17-7 overall and 9-4 in league p lay, the same record as MCC. Jones County is also 9-4 m division action followed by Copiah Lincoln's 8-4 mark. Gulf Coast sits atop the division standings at 11-2. The top four teams advance to the state playoffs, which are scheduled February 28 - March J and will be hosted by the South men's winner (either Copiah– Lincoln or Hinds.)
